Title: Conjecture about the Future of Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT)
With great joy, we would like to invite you to the Third BNCT International Webinar. The speaker will be Yuan Hao Liu, Professor and researcher at the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and at Neuboron Medtech in China.
The webinar will be held virtually (zoom platform), on Friday 9th August at 10 UTC. It will be a 45-minute webinar: 30 minutes exposition + 15 minutes discussion. We will have to stick to the time because participants will be from all over the world!
Title: Conjecture about the Future of Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT)
Name: Yuan-Hao Liu
Title: Professor and researcher (Ph.D. in physics)
Abstract:
In this webinar, we will begin with a brief review of the historical development of Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT), followed by an overview of the current achievements and advancements in the field. We will then present a forward-looking conjecture about the future of BNCT, drawing on extensive experience in the field, covering several key areas:
- BNCT Systems: Anticipated new technologies and emerging trends.
- Treatment Planning Systems: Projections on future advancements.
- Boron Carriers: Upcoming innovations and potential developments.
- Clinical Applications: The promising possibilities ahead.
This webinar aims to provide a comprehensive insight into the future trajectory of BNCT, discussing potential developments and innovative ideas. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the evolving landscape of BNCT and the exciting possibilities it holds
Biosketch:
Dr. Liu is a physicist with expertise in Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT). He earned his Ph.D. from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan, in 2009. He played an important role in the THOR reactor-based BNCT project at NTHU, achieving the first BNCT treatment in 2010. In 2014, he joined Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and founded Neuboron Medical Group. From 2019 to 2021, he established China’s first accelerator-based BNCT center at Xiamen Humanity Hospital. On October 9, 2022, his team conducted the first in-hospital BNCT treatment outside Japan. Currently, they are conducting an IND Phase-I clinical trial.
