Abstract: The review concentrates on the practical side of neutron radiography. First, aspects of neutron beam production are discussed, since the production of a ″radiographic-quality″ beam of neutrons is the primary consideration whatever the neutron sources or image recorders available. This is followed by a brief summary of neutron sources with the intention of highlighting their main advantages and disadvantages for radiography. The various image recorders available are then discussed with the emphasis on screen-film methods, as these are by far the most widely used. Finally, attention is drawn to some methods of image evaluation that have been applied successfully to neutron radiographs.
