Clinical Centres in South Korea

by Soomin Han

South Korea is actively participating in fundamental research and development of Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT) and currently conducting clinical research to advance its application in cancer treatment.

The BNCT Clinic at the Center for BNCT in Songdo, Incheon, South Korea, is leading efforts with the first linear accelerator–based therapeutic neutron irradiation device developed by DAWONMEDAX. In addition, DAWONMEDAX has developed a dedicated ecosystem—currently in use for clinical trials and compassionate use—that includes a linear accelerator–based neutron source, a treatment planning system, and the boron drug L-4-boronophenylalanine.
