Abstract: The proncople of the Radio-Frequency Quadrupole (RFQ) is shown. Rather than describe all the details of this accelerator, basic equations have been given and the approach which led to the invention of the RFQ has been explained. Similar ideas may be applied to the solution of the problems, of which one example is gven.
